What the resume score measures

The score is feedback on the current document, not a prediction of an offer. Read the section-level evidence before deciding what to change.

What is checked

Specificity: Can a reader identify the problem, your own responsibility, the action, and the work scope? A named deliverable is more informative than “responsible for various tasks.”
Impact: Look for an observable change and a defensible connection to your work. A measured number needs a period and baseline; an unmeasured outcome can still describe a shipped change or resolved problem.
Clarity: Check whether a recruiter can follow each sentence without decoding vague verbs, unexplained abbreviations, or repeated claims. Preserve important technical context when shortening.
Separate target-fit review: When a target job is provided, a separate target-fit review compares its requirements with resume evidence. It is not one of the specificity, impact, and clarity writing axes, and relevance to one posting is not a universal measure of career quality.

How to use the result

Check the input: Confirm that the imported text, current resume version, and target job are correct. Missing source text can lead to feedback about an omission that only happened during import.
Choose one edit: Open the feedback attached to a weak claim. Add the missing ownership, context, or result only when you can support it; do not invent a metric to raise a score.
Compare like for like: Keep the target and source material stable when comparing revisions. Changes in a model, prompt, document, or job can affect the result; a small score difference is not proof of a better hiring outcome.

Instead of “Improved reporting,” explain: “Replaced a manual CSV merge with a scheduled report, added duplicate-record checks, and compared the output with the finance team before handover.” The added value is ownership and verification, not an invented percentage.
